Read MoreRecord Store Day 2020 has been postponed as health concerns rise in the wake of the global coronavirus pandemic. Originally scheduled to take place on April 18, the global music event will now take place at participating record stores on Saturday June 20. “RSD acknowledges the need to be good citizens of both the local and worldwide communities while still giving our participating stores around the world the best chance to have a profitable, successful Record Store Day,” organizers said in a statement. As cases of coronavirus continue to be diagnosed, countries are moving to quell any further outbreaks of the disease. This week, New York, for example, banned all gatherings over 500 people, with venues such as Carnegie Hall canceling all programming until April. Festivals, including Coachella and SXSW, have either been postponed or canceled outright, while Live Nation Entertainment and AEG Presents are suspending all of their touring acts through the end of the month. The 2020 Rock Hall induction ceremony has also been postponed. Learn more in “What Happens When a Music Festival Is Canceled Due to Coronavirus?” and “How 14 Major Cities Are Responding to the...

Santana’s set is a continuation of last year’s trek, which honored the milestone anniversaries of both his Grammy-sweeping 1999 album Supernatural and his career-defining performance at Woodstock. The new run begins June 19 at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, Calif., and ends Aug. 29 at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the FL State Fairgrounds in Tampa. “It is a great joy and honor to co-share music with the magnificent elements of Earth, Wind & Fire. We look forward to delight, joy and ecstasy!” Carlos Santana said. “I feel like a 20-year-old onstage playing with my band, and they deliver incredible energy on every song. Read MoreThey dubbed themselves The Band as an ironic inside joke, a nod to their status in the music industry as the anonymous guys who spent years backing up Bob Dylan. The name was also “unpretentious, un-juvenile and un-cute,” per singer/guitarist and de facto leader Robbie Robertson. And yet The Band’s deep legacy is unmistakable. With their smooth blend of rock, folk, bluegrass and R&B, the group defined the Americana roots-rock sound of the late 1960s — never mind that four-fifths of the members were Canadian and only drummer Levon Helm was born in the States. Their story gets laid bare in the fascinating Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band. Using interviews and rare video footage, the documentary (which was the opening night selection of the Toronto International Film Festival last September) provides an insider’s perspective of The Band’s rise and breakout success with their 1968 album, Music From Big Pink. And unlike most films in the genre, there is no chronicle of a phoenix rising: The original Band would never play again after their seminal 1976 all-star farewell concert that turned into the film The Last Waltz. And though Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison and Last Waltz director Martin Scorsese all...
